This quartet is so amazing on so many different levels...go see 'em whilst they still exist in PDX. I really think this one could go a long way in the Jazz world!

I used him almost exclusively in my band when he used to reside in the NYC area, as he always brought so much knowledge and artistry to the music. And combined with his multi-instrumentalist abilities, Chris Brown is a unique talent that's not often found.

Christopher Brown Quartet Record Release Party @ The 1905

  • The 1905 830 North Shaver Street Portland, OR, 97227 United States (map)

The time has finally come where Christopher Brown’s debut recording as a leader has made its way into the world! And as such, it’s only fitting that this milestone be memorialized through a record release party at the very place that helped to nurture the sound that’s on this new recording.

Therefore, when you attend this event, know that your presence will be felt as an investment into both this band, The 1905, and everyone else who shows up consistently for the culture of this music we call Jazz, as well as the public here in Portland who crave it.

So mark your calendars for December 3rd to not only claim a copy of this new record [“Sole City”] for yourself, but to be enveloped into the cultural fold of both a band and an ensuing movement towards changing the landscape of how Jazz musicians are viewed and integrated into the deeper folds of our city. So once again, both this performance and Sole City itself will be a masterclass in composition and improvisation that will resonate long after the last note fades.
